			     SeaI/O for Linux v1.1
					26-04-2004

Release 1.1

** New to this release:

* Alpha driver support for 2.6 Kernels. We hope to have this rung out
  soon.

* Makefile structure has changed to support out-of-tree kernel builds.
This should be much better than the old way of doing things.

Release 1.0b

** New to this release:

* Added functionality for the 8014

* Verified functionality for the 8005

* Verified functionality for the 8011

* Changed source to reflect grammar changes with the GCC 3.X series

* Removed antiquated and depricated tests for the old SeaIO
  windows cross-compatability (tests subdirectory)

* Removed redundant include statements within the various Makefiles
  referring to '/usr/include'

* Modified the creation of the kernel driver in `make install` to
create the misc directory to store the seaio driver in.

* Placed notes within documentation, and need to continue with
  documenting driver issues

* The link to the kernel source must be modified. Recent versions of
Redhat have removed the /usr/src/linux link. Modify
drivers/Makefile and point the SRCDIR variable to the correct
  location of /usr/src/linux-2.4

TODO:
-----

* Update documentation **High importance, this is extremely out of
  date.

* Continue work with various kernel revisions, and GCC to ensure
  compilation compliance.

* Create list of verified kernel and gcc revisions that this package
  has been tested on.

v 1.0b

This release focused on documentation updates as well as updates to
the code to let it compile with newer gcc versions. Don't forget to
run `depmod -a` after installing the kernel module.

We are continually working on the documentation, and we are going to
have more minor releases to distribute these changes. Let us know if
you find any errors by emailing us at support@sealevel.com

v 0.3a
This is a PRE-ALPHA release of the SeaI/O suite.

This release should fully support the following SeaI/O card models:
3093, 3094, 3095, 3096, 3098, 8001, 8002, 8003, 8004 and 8012

This release also adds support (although it it minimally tested) for the
following SeaI/O card models:
4030, 8005, 8255, 8006, 8007

Also added in this release are the SeaIo_OpenDevice and SeaIo_CloseDevice
functions. Please note that these functions are deprecated in favor of the
open() and close() system calls, and are only provided for reverse compatibility
in porting Windows applications.

A point to note about the "8255" card model: this is not really a SeaI/O card.
It is, instead, the controller chip featured on the 4030. The 4030 consists of
two 8255 controllers; by selecting the 8255 card type, you may treat your 4030
as two separate cards (e.g. /dev/dio0 refers to ports A, B, and C on the first
controller on your card, while /dev/dio1 refers to ports A, B, and C on the
second 8255).

Interrupt features on these cards are not supported as of this date.
