			     SeaI/O for Linux v1.0a
				 5 May 2004

This suite of software has been tested on Debian GNU/Linux and some RedHat
versions; if you intend to compile it on other platforms, please check the
Makefiles in lib, driver, and examples/SeaIOTst to ensure our software is
installed to the correct locations on your system.

To install everything: simply "make install" from the directory where you
untarred seaio.tar.gz and hopefully everything will build properly. You need to
have a configured kernel installed in /usr/src/linux for the module to compile
properly; compiling your own kernel is beyond the scope of this document.

Once the kernel module is installed, running "seaio-load" will create the
appropriate nodes in /dev (dio0, dio1, etc ...) and everything should be ready
to go.  You may have to edit /etc/seaio.conf to make seaio-load work properly;
this will be essential if you have an ISA card.

Where is everything installed by default?
kernel module:	/lib/modules/<kernelver>/misc
config files:	/etc/seaio.conf
libseaio.a:	/usr/local/lib
SeaIOTst:	/usr/local/bin

If you wish to change these settings, please consult the appropriate makefiles.
