Introduction
-------------
DAS Wizard is extremely easy to use. Rather than supply a hard copy manual, DAS Wizard documentation is in the form of easy to use help files.

STEP ONE: Set Up the Data Acquisition Board
--------------------------------------------
Prior to running DAS Wizard, please be sure to install a data acquisition board and run the 32-bit Windows version of InstaCAL. InstaCAL will guide you through the installation of your board as well as create the necessary configuration files for use by DAS Wizard. InstaCAL is included with all ComputerBoards cards.
(If you are using a version of InstaCAL shipped prior to 6/22/98, you will need to update the InstaCAL files. The new InstaCAL can be downloaded from our web site and is shipped with all new ComputerBoards data acquisition boards.)

IMPORTANT NOTES:
   1. DAS Wizard requires the 32-bit version of	InstaCAL
   2. DAS Wizard will not run without a properly configured
         data acquistion board installed.

DAS Wizard relies on the various clocks and timers on the board for sample rate generation. This requires the use of system interrupts in most applications. If your board supports interrupts (or DMA), please be sure to install the board with interrupts enabled and set to an available level (InstaCAL will help you do this). Many boards require you to move jumpers or switches to select the interrupt level. To avoid unnecessary work, please set these jumpers before you physically install the board in your computer and/or close your computer's case.

STEP TWO: Add DAS Wizard to Excel
---------------------------------
	1.	Launch Excel
	2.	From the TOOLS item on the Excel menu bar select
		Add-Ins...
	3.	The next dialog box will show you the list of available
Add-Ins. Click on/Check the Box next to DAS Wizard
	4.	Mouse Click on OK

Note: In some configurations the DAS Wizard Box will not be listed. In this cases, select BROWSE. The Add-In should be located in (assuming C: is your default hard drive).

		C:\Program Files\DAS Wizard\

Browse to this location, select Daswiz.xla and click OK.

Helpful Hints:
	1.	When DAS Wizard is added to Excel, the DAS Wizard tool bar will by default appear in the upper left corner of the Excel window. Move it to a more desireable location by grabbing it with your mouse and dragging it.
	2.	If DAS Wizard's toolbar is not visible, click on VIEW, SELECT TOOLBARS and then check DAS Wizard.
	3. If you want DAS Wizard to load and place the ICON on your tool bar for all new spreadsheets, do this: 1. Create a new spreadsheet using the FILE > NEW sequence. 2. Drag the DAS Wizard ICON to your desired location on the tool bar. 3. Save the worksheet accepting the default name BOOK1.XLS.

STEP THREE: Launch DAS Wizard
------------------------------
	1. You may either mouse click on the DAS Wizard ICON or
In the TOOLS item on the Excel menu bar there will now
be an item called DAS Wizard, select the DAS TASKS
		option on the menu bar.
	2.	Mouse Click on New task (in the lower left of the box)
	3.	Double Click on Analog input (or output/digital if that
		better matches your application)
	4.	You may then configure your application by moving among
the four DAS Wizard property pages
		(general, data, scan & trigger)
	5. Or simply mouse click on RUN.
	6.	Look at your data (cells A:1 through A:100)

The default setup takes 100 samples from A/D channel 0, at a sample rate of 1000 Hz and places the data in a column starting at cell A:1. (The board's input range will match the selection made during board installation using InstaCAL)

You're now ready to visit the DAS Wizard property pages and customize your data acquisition task to match your requirements.

How to access on-line HELP & Documentation
	1.	Anytime the DAS Wizard dialog box is active, on-line help
